Through joining its fellow oneworld members’ joint business, Finnair is now offering many more North America cities on a single ticket.

On transatlantic routes between Europe and North America, Finnair is now collaborating with American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia.

From July 2, customers of Finland’s flag carrier can access the other carriers’ routes. Under the new agreement, Finnair is also easing connections with 13 cities in Finland and Europe for customers on the other three airlines.

Finnair has added its AY code to all transatlantic American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia flights.

Earlier today, Finnair also announced its intention to join the joint business agreement between oneworld members Japan Airlines and British Airways on traffic between Japan and the European Union.

American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia started their transatlantic joint business in October 2010.

On flights between Europe and North America, travellers can mix and match flights on all four carriers, which offer coordinated schedules.

Oneworld global support centres in Chicago O’Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, London Heathrow, Los Angeles, Madrid Barajas, Miami and New York JFK
also help to provide smoother connections.

In total, the joint business will now offer up to 102 daily round trips between North America and Europe, serving 42 gateways on either side of the Atlantic.

Customers also have access to a further 163 onward connections in North America and 126 in Europe.
