Iberia ups frequencies to Chicago and Panama City

Iberia is increasing flights to the Windy City and Panama’s capital in a bid to improve connections with its Spanish domestic and European network.

Beginning on June 1, Iberia will increase its service between Madrid and Chicago to 10 weekly flights, compared to the daily it presently operates.

The Spanish airline is also raising the number of weekly Madrid-Panama flights from five to six, with a seventh added sometime in July.

Iberia described Panama as: “one of Latin America’s most attractive and fastest-growing countries.”

The increased frequencies offer passengers connections to/from more than 70 destinations in Spain, Europe, Africa and the Middle East through its T4 hub at Madrid-Barajas Airport.

The carrier has recently reshaped its Latin America network, including the discontinuation of a number of routes, so it now operates non-stop flights to 14 regional destinations, with connecting flights to 63 cites flown under codeshare.

Iberia is gradually upgrading the cabins on its long-haul fleet, with 17 of 25 already outfitted. Alongside on-demand entertainment systems, wi-fi and new seating, the airline has also introduced a new Business Plus class featuring isolated pods designed to offer more room, comfort and privacy.
