Magnifica Air targets 2027 launch with all-premium ‘Private Class’ on A220 and ACJ321neo

US start-up Magnifica Air plans an all-premium, seat-sold product called ‘Private Class’, operating Airbus A220-300 and ACJ321neo aircraft with private airport facilities and a small cabin of suites and recliners. The carrier aims to begin operations in 2027, though interiors and regulatory approvals remain works in progress.

US start-up Magnifica Air has unveiled plans for an all-premium carrier that it says will sell individual seats on luxury jets rather than requiring whole-aircraft charters. The airline intends to operate Airbus A220-300 and ACJ321neo types configured with unusually small, high-end cabins and a product it calls “Private Class”.

Product and fleet details

Magnifica’s proposed cabins are compact and focused on privacy. The A220-300 is planned with approximately 45–54 seats and will include two private suites, while the ACJ321neo will carry about the same total number of passengers but offer four suites. The carrier has said it will eliminate overhead luggage bins to create a more spacious interior.

Airport experience and market position

Beyond the cabin, Magnifica plans to offer a near-private end-to-end experience. Passengers would use dedicated airport facilities that include private security screening and lounges plus transfers to the aircraft, with the airline aiming to allow travellers to arrive about 30 minutes before departure.

The start-up positions its product deliberately between traditional commercial first class and full private charter, marketing the idea of a luxury, semi-private experience where customers buy a seat on a premium jet rather than leasing an entire aircraft.

Sector context and timetable

Magnifica joins an established but niche group of carriers that operate all-premium or semi-private services. The market already includes all-business-class operator La Compagnie, which has flown transatlantic services since 2014 on Airbus A321neo aircraft with 76 seats, all of which convert into fully flat beds; La Compagnie links Newark with Paris, Milan and seasonal services to Nice. Other players named in the sector include beOnd, and semi-private operators such as JSX and Aero.

Magnifica intends to begin operations in 2027, but the carrier has acknowledged that its aircraft interiors, regulatory approvals and commercial launch are still works in progress. No firm launch dates, route network or distribution details were published alongside the product and fleet outline.

  • Magnifica Air proposes an all-premium, seat-sold product called “Private Class”.
  • Planned fleet: Airbus A220-300 and ACJ321neo with roughly 45–54 seats and a small number of private suites.
  • Targeted launch: 2027; interiors and regulatory approvals remain outstanding.

The model reflects growing interest in premium, low-density scheduled services that aim to capture business and leisure travellers seeking a near-charter experience without the cost or logistics of hiring an entire aircraft.
