Singapore Airlines will deploy an upgraded KrisWorld inflight entertainment platform and install Starlink connectivity on a selection of aircraft from 2027 as part of a wider cabin refresh unveiled this month.
What changes and where
The carrier said the new entertainment offering will appear on 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 airframes and on its incoming Boeing 777-9 fleet. Equipment and feature fit will vary by aircraft type and cabin class: first-class customers can expect the largest 4K touchscreens of up to 81cm, business-class screens up to 56cm, premium economy up to 41cm and economy up to 33cm.
- Next-generation KrisWorld: redesigned interface, personalised recommendations and the ability to resume programmes across flights
- Hardware upgrades: 4K touchscreens with OLED on selected installations and Bluetooth audio pairing
- Wellness content: sleep, meditation, breathing and in-seat stretching modules
- Connectivity: Starlink to be introduced progressively from early 2027 on selected A380 and A350 aircraft
Passenger-facing features and account integration
Passengers will be able to sign in with KrisFlyer accounts to receive tailored content suggestions, save favourites and continue viewing across journeys. The refreshed system will offer an expanded content library of more than 2,500 titles and a wellness planner designed to help travellers manage activities during flight time. Singapore Airlines said unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi will remain for Suites, first and business class, and for PPS Club and KrisFlyer members travelling in premium economy and economy on aircraft equipped with Starlink.
Rollout and fleet scope
The airline confirmed the upgrades will be introduced in phases. The entertainment system will be fitted during the retrofit programme for A350-900s and on the airline’s future 777-9 arrivals; Starlink connectivity will be installed progressively starting in early 2027 on a selection of A380 and A350 types.
| feature | aircraft | timing |
|---|---|---|
| Next-gen KrisWorld (4K, personalised features) | 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900; future Boeing 777-9 | From 2027; phased rollout |
| Starlink high-speed connectivity | Selected A380 and A350 aircraft | Progressive introduction from early 2027 |
The enhancements form part of a broader cabin and passenger experience update the airline plans to display in Singapore in November. Singapore Airlines has said features will differ by cabin and aircraft type, reflecting the carrier’s segmentation of premium and economy offerings.
For passengers, the combined upgrades represent a move towards higher-resolution screens, personal audio connectivity and greater online capability on long-haul services. For route planners and airline product teams, the programme sets out clear fleet and equipment priorities ahead of the 777-9 introduction and the continued retrofit of A350-900s.
