Flyte Aviation has received approval from Transport Canada to begin operating flights into and out of Canada, extending the US private aviation company’s network into a new international market.
The approval, announced by Flyte on 29 October 2026, allows the company to commence cross-border operations under the regulatory oversight of the Canadian department responsible for air travel. Flyte described the move as part of its international expansion strategy and as an extension of its growing US network.
Canada added to expanding network
Flyte’s existing international footprint includes destinations in the Caribbean. The company said that adding Canada would create further opportunities for private travel between the United States and one of its largest neighbouring travel markets, although the announcement did not identify specific Canadian airports, routes, launch dates or operating frequencies.
The operator’s fleet includes Cirrus Vision Jets, while its business model combines private aircraft operations with a digital booking platform. Flyte said the combination is intended to support regional travel and international journeys that have traditionally involved more complicated arrangements.
“Expanding into Canada is an exciting milestone for Flyte as we build out the much larger aviation network we envision. Canada is a natural extension of our growing U.S. network, and we anticipate this expansion will open meaningful opportunities to serve customers traveling between major business, leisure and cultural destinations across North America,” said David Jenkins, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Flyte Aviation.
Regulatory step precedes operations
Transport Canada’s approval is a regulatory milestone rather than an announcement of a named route or scheduled service. Flyte said it could now extend its private aviation network across North America, but did not provide details of the first Canadian flights or explain whether the services would be operated on a fixed schedule, on demand or through charter arrangements.
The company positioned the Canadian authorisation alongside its wider expansion programme, which is supported by its US network, Caribbean destinations, Cirrus Vision Jet fleet and technology-enabled booking process. The announcement also identifies Canada as a market for travel between business, leisure and cultural destinations, without disclosing projected passenger numbers, aircraft additions or investment associated with the expansion.
