British Airways has expanded its bookable Mexican network through a new codeshare with low-cost carrier Viva, giving customers access to 13 destinations beyond the two airlines’ existing connecting points.
The agreement covers Viva-operated domestic services connecting through Mexico City (MEX) and Cancún (CUN) with British Airways flights to London. It is available to book now, with the first eligible journeys scheduled for travel from 28 March 2027.
Connecting through London and Mexico
Under the arrangement, the Viva sectors will be sold under a British Airways flight code through ba.com. Customers will be able to purchase the connecting itinerary on a single ticket rather than arranging the domestic and international portions separately.
The Mexican destinations named in the announcement include Guadalajara, Monterrey and Puerto Vallarta. The partnership also creates connectivity in the opposite direction: passengers starting their journeys in Mexico will be able to travel via London on to destinations across British Airways’ wider network.

The arrangement provides a distribution and ticketing link between British Airways’ London operation and Viva’s domestic network. British Airways said the agreement will increase access to Mexican destinations for customers travelling from the UK and Europe, while Viva customers will gain access to connections through London.
Viva’s domestic reach
Viva operates a fleet of 110 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. The airline serves more than 60 destinations across Mexico, the United States, Colombia, Costa Rica and Cuba, giving the codeshare a wider regional context beyond the 13 destinations included in the initial agreement.
The partnership also extends the loyalty benefits available on the connecting journeys. Members of The British Airways Club will be able to earn Avios and tier points when travelling on the eligible itineraries.
